New Cruise concept

It is fashion amng Greek people to spend some of their holidays on cruise to Greek island and Turkey. I also had recently the experience, which I would like to share with people interested to go on a cruise.
1. The program
Usally cruises are going from 3 to 7 days. Passengers can embark from any of the ports that the ship calls. This make it easy for people leaving in Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, Pireus, Rhodes, Patmos and Kusadasi avoiding extra costs to travel in order to emabrk.
A typical cruise schedule, will be : PIREUS MYCONOS KUSADASI PATMOS RHODES HERAKLION SANTORIONI PIREUS>

2. The Ships
These cruises are usally done with mid size cruise boats. My experience was with ship built for cruises which I consider very important. The reason is that there are several funchions that a cruise ship should be different than a liner starting from cabins, to sitting areas, swimming pools, bars, restaurants and disco. Most importantly cruise boat are travelling with an average speed of 12-15 miles/hour while liners in our days are traveling with +-30 miles/hour. Had the information that this is a crucial factor on building ships. Overall impression is good, and I am asked to score the boar, I would give 7 on a scale of 10.
3. The Ports
Our Experience is similar to all people traveling on this cruise.
Piraeus. In Piraeus ships are disembarking and embarking the majority of their customers. The time spend at this port is limited and if someone does not bye a tour there are only very few things to do outside the ship. Our suggestion is to stay on board, and enjoy the view of the Pireus, swim and relax.
Mykonos. At this port there is a possibility that the ship does not arrive at the dock, which means that local tenders. In such a high profile island and with the limited time that cruise ships stay, you better stay cool and away from the thousands of visitors. A walk around the narrow streets is very relaxing and enjoyfull, but do not dare to sit on a cafeteria for a coffee (not served after 18:00!!!!!!!!!!) or a drink. It will most probably cost you a fortune.

Kusadasi. Get ready for the bargain of your life. Numerus shops in a very clean I must say market, will offer you products on prices you will never find elsewhere. All the big time firms are available here at the price of one euro or two.
Patmos. Extremelly beatifful islnad, with some spoiled from tourism people, but this is common in our days.

Conclusion. Worth to take a short cruise, since the money value offered at he moment is good.
Be aware that in places you go, some other 4-5 thousand people are also going at the same time. So, relax, be the last to go off ship, and you will most probably enjoy the most.

Aaaaa!!! Just not to forget. Do people in Heraklion port still have to walk from terminal!! to the ship ? Very funny story, that happens only in Greece. The screen passengers and luggages from free area to controlled area. Then since the ship is some 1000 meters away, they have shuttle buses taking people from/to ship. All of them ??? Nooooo. The ones having luggages!!!! can not go with bus, tey have to walk!!!!!!! The ones DO NOT having luggages, YES they can go with bus.
Deatail: Walking with your luggages to the ship, you will wlak OUT of the CONTROLLED AREA and then ENTER the CONTROLLED area again without check this time. Wondering what was the reason for the screening at the first place ?
Anoher small detail. Bus company does the shuttle service belongs to a parliament member.

Wish you all a nice cruise
